Joyce Carol Oates (born June 16, 1938 in Lockport, New York) is an American writer of novels, short stories, plays, poetry, and non-fiction.
Life Oates grew higher in the Future York countryside, attending the a single-room school for her simple education. She wrote stories once infant &, when she received the typewriter at age Xiv, began writing novels throughout highschool & college. When attending Syracuse University, she won a desired Mademoiselle fiction contest.
